Bunker House Arcade
A downloadable Bunker Arcade for macOS and Linux
This game was made for the 2022 Secret Santa Game Jam! It took me about a week to complete, working for about 20 hours on it in total. Originally, the scale of this project was much bigger, although due to me becoming busier than expected, I had a change of plan.
The game consists of 2 arcade style games, an arcade style top down car racing game, and a 1st person "doom" style shoot-em-up arcade game; with an interactable Arcade "lobby" scene.
The game was really fun to work on, and I do plan on returning to this game idea to create more arcade style games, a better arcade lobby scene, and pull it all together much better than it is now, with that being said, I do hope you enjoy what I put together!
This game was created for https://charbomber.itch.io/!
Special thanks to https://strawberrycheetah.itch.io/ for helping with some in-game art!
Extra Information about the game:
Within the shoot-em-up game, you have 2 weapons! Switch using Number 1,2 or using your scroll wheel.
To Complete the shoot-em-up game, you need to collect 4 keys, to then open the final door at the end of the cave! (you'll know what it means in game i promise)

The idea of making an arcade room with multiple games that are actually playable is so cool!
Thank you! I was surprised when I was googling the concept I couldn't find any biggish games that have done it!
The first of these minigames, while not particularly formidable, was beset by subpar artificial intelligence. Additionally, at one point in the game I was significantly behind in the race, yet somehow still managed to attain first place.
The second minigame was plagued by a plethora of bugs, including instances where enemies persisted in moving towards me despite being deceased. I also found myself perplexed by the purpose of the keys, as there was no clear indication of their function or sound effects that signified when they were picked up or unlocked something. The blue bar in the game remained an enigma to me, and I even had a moment where I fell out of the map and was unable to do anything (see screenshot). The blinding muzzle flash also proved to be a hindrance, and the second weapon seemed weaker in comparison to the first weapon, which was able to kill enemies much more efficiently.
Despite these issues, the game was still enjoyable overall.
It would be delightful if the game featured a token system, where players could earn tokens by playing the various minigames, and then exchange those tokens for goods or special items. For instance, perhaps there could be a final quest where players had to save up and exchange 10,000 tokens in order to obtain a special teddy bear. This would add an extra layer of replayability to the game, as players would have the incentive to keep playing in order to earn more tokens. It would also give players a sense of accomplishment and progression as they saved up and worked towards their goal of acquiring the special item.
I am hopeful that we will have the opportunity to see more games from you in the future, and I am looking forward to observing your progress and development.
thanks

This was fun! I had my fun in the little racing game, and the AI for it seemed pretty good. The game almost crashed a few times though, and I don't like it when games force you into fullscreen. Also, I couldn't even get past the first part of the FPS game, you gave the enemies way too much health (I was spamming shoot and I couldn't kill an enemy even with a full clip) and it's really jarring to have a faster speed when moving forwards than when you're strafing or going backwards. All that aside though, I really like the concept, and I'm glad you're considering updating it with more things. I hope you enjoyed the jam!
Thank you for the comment! The FPS Game I found to be too easy? There is a better gun as your secondary (you press 2 to switch to it, which maybe you missed (which is my bad, i didnt write it anywhere! ) thank you for playing it!
